Our books as epubs in chronological order: Day 1 SYSTEMS’ OUT!

This is the first book we ever wrote, and we are still so proud of it.

It has multiple experiences of plurality, queer relationships in an alien culture, physical dysphoria in a genderless society, living with neurodiversity in a technocratic panopticon, and questions of life and death verses power and where responsibility even comes from.

And it was published here on this site, with a link in the sidebar where you can start reading it. But now you can also get it as an epub.

Here, if you would be so kind as to throw a few bucks our way in the process:

Our work is always free to read, but open to your support. Thank you.

SYSTEMS’ OUT!

What if you could step outside of your body and look back at who you really are?

What if you found that you weren’t alone?

What if you knew you’d never been alone in your own brain, and you’ve always shared your body with a whole group of other people, only you had to take turns?

What if you were given the key to living a full life in parallel with your headmates, your system members? What would you do?

The Pembers and the Flits are both pluralities, systems, living aboard the Sunspot, a generational starship full of an extremely diverse people. And the secluded, technocratic Crew, who no one has ever seen in person, have decided to let them experiment with a newly modified technology that will allow them to do just that. All of that. Live fully in parallel with each other, while also maintaining that psychic contact they’ve always had. And to discover who they really are in the process.

The old construction nanites that were used to create the ship in the first place have been reconfigured to function as a new and improved neural terminal that vastly improves the bandwidth for connecting consciousnesses to the Network. And everyone is excited about the possibilities.

Only, someone, somehow, has added some functionality that wasn’t asked for. And the results threaten to overturn everything, even, possibly, destroy the Sunspot itself, if people aren’t careful.

Which leaves one last very important question: Why?
