When we finished SYSTEMS’ OUT! we didn’t know what we were going to write next. We knew that we wanted to keep writing stories aboard the Sunspot, but we were so satisfied with what we’d written that we didn’t have any other ideas yet.
And then, on February 10, 2020, our own Phage, the real one, had a child who named themself Ni’a. And we all just felt like celebrating.
The new activity in our psyche was infectious, and several people went, “Hey! What if this happened on the Sunspot?”
And then Abacus stood up and said, “I’d like to write that!” And a couple days later it was already eight chapters in.
This book is not a true story. It’s only based loosely on a tiny handful of facts. But it is a faithful elaboration on the world we’d created and populated for our first book. And now it’s an epub.
Here, if you would be so kind as to throw a few bucks our way in the process:

Or here, in case itch has started censoring us:

Our work is always free to read, but open to your support. Thank you.
NI’A
Abacus, Tutor of the Sunspot, former tutor of Tetcha, who is now a Monster, has been given an unusual assignment.
Instead of helping to raise the next Child, it has been told to write their biography. Because this Child is special. An anomaly. Someone who might change everyone’s understanding of, well, nearly everything. Maybe.
This book is its attempt to do that.
But neither Abacus nor the Council of the Crew are prepared for what is about to happen.
Because this Child, Ni’a, has a parent.
And that parent is Phage.
And Phage’s origins aboard the Sunspot are about to catch up to everyone.
