girldragongizzard

We have just published a new book. It’s called girldragongizzard, and it is a novel. But it has nothing to do with the Sunspot Chronicles at all. So we haven’t quite decided how to feature it on this website. For now, we’re giving it this post!

You can read it on its original tumblr blog, girldragongizzard. Or you can buy the book from lulu.com!

Synopsis:

Meghan used to think she was a man. Sort of. She’d had her doubts, but she’d rolled with it as best she could. She would sit in the darker corner of her favorite coffee shop and watch the staff and regulars interact with each other, drinking her usual cup of drip. If anybody mentioned anything about dragons, she could join the conversation.

She lived upstairs in one of the low income apartments above the shop. Until just a few days ago, when she woke up in her true form.

Now, everyone can see clearly that she’s a dragon. And strangely, they’re all treating her better, more naturally. Like this is how it should have been all along.

But the transformation does bring its challenges.

And it isn’t just her life that’s going to change forever because of this.

The whole world must reckon with dracomorphosis, and what it means for survival of life on Earth.

It is, officially, the sequel to our comic Harmless Free Radicals. But you don’t have to have read that to make any sense of it, at all. In fact, it may be better if you haven’t.

Also, because there are recurring characters between both the Sunspot Chronicles and girldragongizzard, this is probably a good place to mention that these two series are alternate universes from each other. The Sunspot Chronicles is the universe where the Ktletaccete developed as an alien species on another planet and developed space faring technology. Harmless Free Radicals/girldragongizzard is the original alternative universe to the Real World, where the Ktletaccete are the Earth’s “Dragons of the Arts” and are immortal beings that embody skills that can be mastered. Since July of 2000, we’ve been exploring both settings as playgrounds where we can try out different stories and have fun doing different things. Harmless Free Radicals just got our public attention first, because it was easier to do at the time.

Anyway, we hope you enjoy and that it is not too confusing. We think you’ll like girldragongizzard in particular if you are therian or otherkin and dream of transformation or of living as your true self in some way. It focuses on dragons, but gives an opportunity to all Terrestrial non-humans who are currently stuck in human bodies to live in a world where they might not have to do that anymore.
