Once we wrote THE END OF THE TUNNEL, two things became obvious to us: we were planning on telling more stories to follow in the series, from the perspectives of the other characters; and we needed to send a human to the Sunspot. Well, an Earthling, at least. A therian, Goreth. Who is a dragon. So through the miracle of a nanite exobody, they also get to have the body they’ve always dreamt they should have.

And we commenced on telling the story of how the Sunspot Chronicles got published on Earth, as well.

This is a story about making friends, developing queer-platonic partnerships, and maybe even romances, in the backdrop of cultural exchange and comparing fascist developments of Earth and alien governments. So it delves into Sunspot cultures in a way that previous books were never able to do.

Goreth opens up negotiations with an editor for publishing the books that they, Sarah, and Ashwin have started writing, the Sunspot Chronicles. But while they talk to this new business contact, they are simultaneously getting a tour of the Sunspot itself, a generational star ship built by the Ktletaccete that is making its way across space in some unknown direction and unknown distance away.

Through the power of the Tunnel Apparatus, Goreth and Sarah can project a copy of their conscious minds to this whole other world, just as Ashwin had to do to visit Earth.

Of course, this brings with it a myriad of troubles. And life on Earth continues to bear down on them all the same.
